Northstar Conference 2020 Annual Conference Update
On behalf of the Northstar Chapter, we would like to thank you for participating in the survey regarding the status of our Annual Conference that was scheduled for October 22nd and 23rd.
After much thought from the Committee, Board, and survey feedback from our members, we have decided to cancel our 2020 Annual Conference due to COVID-19.
This was a very difficult decision for us, and one that we did not take lightly. This is the first year in the history of the Northstar Chapter that our conference had to be cancelled. Our top priority, however, is to keep attendees, speakers, and vendors safe.
We are investigating virtual options for the future. It may be possible to have members watch a recorded video for both Monthly meetings and the Annual Conference. We believe this would expand our audience and increase the participation for attendees that need flexibility and/or do not live in the area. We ask that you are patient as we research the technical requirements and determine if it is a viable option for us. We will periodically keep you updated on our progress.
The Board places a strong value in the continuing education of our members. We realize that many members rely on the RCH credits to maintain their certification in Payroll. While it is unfortunate that we are unable to offer the same number of RCH credits in 2020 compared to previous years, there are various sources besides the Northstar Chapter, that can also provide these credits, with some that may be free. As the Board learns of these free sessions we will pass this information onto the members.
We have scheduled our 2021 Annual Conference for October 14th and 15th at the Embassy Suites by Hilton hotel in Bloomington.
